Damhead Lane

On the right-hand side of the crossroads is Damhead Lane. This photo was taken on a bright January morning.

Local stories are told that cattle thieves were hanged at the Two Mills gibbet mill nearby, and their severed "damned" heads displayed on spikes in a nearby field....... as a deterrent to other, would-be rustlers..
